CONGRESSMAN GONZALEZ VOTES NO ON PARTISAN CONTINUING RESOLUTION
House Republican Bill is an Attack on Health Care
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34) released a statement following his vote to oppose House Republicans’ bill that would strip health care from over 100,000 South Texans, and leaves out critical funding for community infrastructure projects.
“Today I voted no on the partisan continuing resolution because it does nothing to avert the looming health care crisis facing South Texans and once again fails to deliver funding for critical infrastructure projects in our region. The bill we voted on today leaves our seniors, veterans, and families to figure out how they can afford skyrocketing insurance costs – up to $420 per year – at a time when the cost of everything else is out of control. We have an opportunity to restore care for over 100,000 South Texans and deliver for the people we represent. Time is running out and this administration and my colleagues on the other side of the aisle know this. Let’s get it done!”
